A defaulted toilet can quickly become a breeding ground for bacteria and unpleasant smells, and it is certainly not something you want to show off when guests arrive.
One product makes all the difference
Fortunately, there is a simple and environmentally friendly method that gives a remarkable result – and it requires only one single product.
Namely, sodium percarbonate.
It is a natural connection and the product is known as a mild alternative to chlorine.
When mixed with hot water, it actively releases oxygen, which effectively dissolves dirt and discoloration in the toilet bowl.
The method is easy and takes only 20 minutes from start to finish. Here’s how you do:
- Take gloves and possibly Guides on – percarbonate can be irritating to skin and eyes.
- Mix three tablespoons of percarbonate with one liter of boiling water.
- Pour the mixture into the toilet bowl and make sure the liquid covers the entire bottom and edges.
- Let it work for 15 minutes.
- Scrub with the toilet brush – the percarbonate will already have loosened most of the dirt.
- Rinse out and enjoy the sight of an almost new toilet bottom.
If there are still lime residues, you can sprinkle a mixture of baking soda, percarbonate and citric acid in the toilet in the evening.
Let it work overnight and scrub the next morning. It does wonders.
