Germany banned another far -right group and arrested its leaders
Police have arrested four members of a radical group, which seeks to replace the modern German state, Interior Minister and prosecutors said on Tuesday. This is another operation against the extreme right movement, defined as a potential threat to democracy.
Shares against Koenigreich Deutschland (« Kingdom of Germany ») followed a ban by the Interior Ministry of this group.
According to prosecutors, it has created parallel secret institutions for a new country in accordance with a far -right ideology known as the Reichsburger movement.

One of the four arrested is the self -proclaimed sovereign of the Kingdom, prosecutors said.
The German domestic intelligence put the more famous Reichsburger movement in 2016 after one of his members shot a police officer during an action at his home.
A movement check, which covers a number of conspiracy theories, questioning the legitimacy of the modern German state, intensified in December 2022, when authorities thwarted advanced plans for an armed coup.

Its followers believe that German democracy is an illegitimate facade and that they are citizens of a monarchy, which, according to them, existed after the defeat of Germany in World War I, despite its official removal.
The aim of the ten -year -old « Kingdom of Germany », which claims to have about 6,000 supporters, is to separate from Germany and create a counter -state with its own police force and jurisdiction, said Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt.
« We are not talking about a group of harmless nostalgics, but about criminal structures and a criminal network, » Dobrindt told reporters, adding that their criminal economic network has long been the focus of the German authorities. Weapons have not been seized, he said.
Police have acted on four orders for arrest of suspects identified as Matthias B., Peter F., Benjamin M. and Martin S., missing their surnames in accordance with German confidentiality laws.

Prosecutors said the four men were suspected of being the leaders of the group who created « pseudo -state structures and institutions », including a bank and insurance system, a body printing « fictional documents », and their own currency.
Peter F. was the « supreme sovereign » of the group with powers to supervise and make decisions in the key areas of the group, prosecutors said.
