The tragedy took place on Wednesday, May 7 at 19.20 at Hochstraße in the center of Krefeld (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). According to « Bild », a 25-year-old employee of the New Yorker clothing store before closing the premises counted the core with his supervisor, a 41-year-old Polish woman named Magda, when he suddenly threw himself at her with a knife, he dealt a few blows, and then escaped with money from the cash register. The woman died on the spot.

Soon after the incident, the police detained a 25-year-old suspect. The officers were to alert the witnesses who saw him near the place of the incident with a bloody knife in his hand.
According to « Bild », the detained is a citizen of Afghanistan, Akbar S., who was seeking asylum in Germany. The application was rejected, but after supplementing it in 2021 and changing power in his homeland, due to the political situation, his deportation was issued. He lived in a private apartment, had a work permit – informs the daily. The 25-year-old was to work in the clothing store in Krefeld for two months.
Policemen found a large amount of cash with him, but it has not yet been confirmed whether it was taken from the cassette. This information will decide whether the allegation of the murder that the man heard will be changed to A robbery murder. It is punished more severely than a « ordinary murder » because it is obligatory to see life imprisonment.
The investigation, intended to explain the exact circumstances and causes of this tragedy, is being conducted by the prosecutor’s office in Krefeld. There is a difficult task in front of them, because-as « Bild » informs-the arrested 25-year-old does not want to cooperate with the services and is consistently silent. The court on Thursday, May 8 decided to place the suspect in temporary detention.

The New Yorker branch in Krefeld was closed until further notice. The company offered its employees psychological support. Collaborators of the murdered Polish woman do not hide the regret and shock that her death caused.
– She was a very nice boss. I got along great with her. And yesterday, four hours before her death, I was shopping here – says the German RTL Jad Balleh station (22 years old), a student employed in a store at Hochstraße. As he emphasizes, although he met her only three months ago, he has the impression that they knew each other much longer.
« We had good relationships, and she was simply popular and I don’t understand how anyone could do something like that, » admits the shocked venom of Balleh and adds: « Of course I would go to her funeral because she was like a mother for me. »
People laid flowers and candles in front of the store building. Between them there was also a card in which the team of the New York branch in New York turns directly to the deceased friend.
