German police are removed from the air international child porn platform, considered 1,393 suspects
The German police have an internet platform on which child pornographic material was spread from the air. Between April 2022 and now, nearly 190 thousand users registered with the platform worldwide, for a fee with crypto coins. In the meantime, 1,393 of them have been considered suspects, thirteen of which live in the Netherlands. That made the Dutch police on Wednesday known.
The Dutch Fighting Child pornography and Child Sex Tourism (TBKK) of the Unit of National Investigation and Interventions (LO) has done home searches for five of them to seize ‘data carriers’.
The platform’s server, which is called ‘Kidflix’, was in the Netherlands. According to the Bavarian police, there were around 72,000 videos on it. With the help of the Dutch police, the server was seized at the beginning of March. Bavarian detectors have been since April 2022 busy With their research into ‘Kidflix’, the platform was available through the so -called Darkweb.
« Although no arrests have been made for the time being, it is not excluded that this will be done after extensive investigation of the seized data carriers, » said the Dutch police. The other suspects, who have not previously performed similar practices and have no direct interaction with children, received a « warning interview » with the local local police officer.
Abused children identified
The investigation into the child pornographic platform is a large -scale police operation, reports the Bavarian police, in which 38 countries eventually participated. The Netherlands and the United Kingdom, but also Colombia and Australia, participated. Europol, the partnership of police services of the European Union, coordinated part of the action.
As soon as a suspect came into the picture, the researchers tried to map the family situation of this suspect, writes the Bavarian police. In this way, several abused children were also identified during the study. For example, children who were victims of sexual abuse in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia were brought to safety by the police.
The investigation into the platform has not yet been completed, writes the Bavarian police. The operators of the platform have not yet been identified.
