« Georgescu should be allowed to apply … if he respected the law »
The candidate of the presidential coalition says that Georgescu should be allowed to run.
Only if « it respects the law », said Crin Antonescu.
The controversy of its legality is disputed by those who say that it has complied with the law and those who say that it did not comply with the law.
If Georgescu's file respects the law is subject to the last BEC decision, followed by street protests.
« I have repeatedly expressed and maintain my wish that everything would be fine and all the candidates to obey the folk vote. I still wish Mr. Georgescu aligned at the beginning of this competition and evaluated exclusively by the popular vote. This does not mean that Mr. Georgescu or another candidate is no longer wanted to respect the laws of this country, if we are a rule of law and I hope we are.
I think what had to happen for some time, and I hope to happen from one moment to another, however, is a minimal communication. Even though not a total rule motivation, a minimal communication from the bulb, which makes public the reason why Mr. Georgescu's file was rejected, that all the tension comes from here, ”said Crin Antonescu.
The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) rejected the candidacy of Călin Georgescu. The decision can be appealed to the Constitutional Court (CCR).
