George Simion criticizes the victory of Dominic Fritz, elected as president of the USR.
« The new USR president, Dominic Fritz, is not a Romanian citizen! Okay, Nicușor Dan was not chosen by Romanians. Without foreigners in public functions! », Wrote the gold leader on a social network.
Dominic Fritz said that he has submitted his request for a year to obtain Romanian citizenship and that he fulfills all the conditions.
« My file has not yet arrived, » said Fritz.
The interim president of the USR, Dominic Fritz, won the internal elections for the leadership of the party, meeting 62% of the options (7,312 votes).
10,914 USR members voted, representing 57.15%.
Fritz was followed by Violeta Alexandru – 22.03% (2,396 votes); Luiza Elena Oancea – 2.69% (292 votes), Eduard Răducanu – 2.69% (292 votes).
George Ungureanu, Gabriel Filip, Horea Zaha, Constantin Gheorghiță and Mihai Mihăilă also applied.
The elections were held during the last three days. According to the state, the president is elected by direct and secret vote, on a secure electronic platform, by all party members.
The choice of the new president will be validated at the USR Congress on June 21.
Former president of USR Elena Lasconi resigned in early May.
