General Weekend to grow into general 365 days, protecting nature, protecting ourselves, said Siljanovska Davkova

Protecting nature, we are protecting ourselves, and a weekend general should grow into a general of 365 days, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova said today at the Skopje Aqueduct at the beginning of the three -day national waste cleaning action « General ».

Noting that we need to protect the nature of the authorities, he told them that the space at the Skopje aqueduct, which is more than 2,000 years old, should be a park.

She focused on French philosophers Rousseau and Michel Sera on their views on the need for a natural agreement, between people and nature.

– An agreement that guarantees that people will protect nature. We say in law that one who is older has stronger or greater rights, but the herbs first arise, and the animals and people. People behave like intruders in paradise, that’s a fact. If we do not calm down with nature we will kill ourselves. That’s a fact – said Siljanoska Davkova.

The initiative was also welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Environment Minister Izet Mexhiti, according to which this is the largest volunteer action to clean up the waste in the country that is becoming more and more massive year and becomes a symbol of how awareness of its own responsibility and good cooperation has produced prominent results.

– The environment and especially such monuments as the aqueduct deserve respect and care. Such actions in which we all jointly show initiative, will and willingness to cooperate should be part of our daily lives. Waste is not a place on the street or in nature – Medziti said.

The government and the MoEPP, he emphasized, supports all actions that show a strong initiative, strong will, inclusiveness and desire to be part of the changes that will allow a better future for us and future generations.

The Eco Action General Weekend is organized by Man and Mountain in collaboration with Pivara Skopje, Pakomak, Zero Waste, Sparkasse Bank, EVN Macedonia, Makstil, Bucim Borov Dol, Saubermaher and Kostal. The action is also supported by ZELS, Red Cross and the Ministry of Environment.
