However, in order to preserve the secret of the procedure and to prevent the compromising of the evidence, the prosecution said it was unable to disclose more details of the activities.
The total number of suspects in Kocani has so far been 34. Among them is former Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi from the DUI. The investigation covers 27 natural and three legal entities, and investigative proceedings are against seven police officers from SIA Stip and PSON Kocani.
DUI today again demanded an independent investigation into the Pulse, out of the hands of those who, they say, have allowed the tragedy.
– It is clear that the government does not need justice, but an alibi. It must not be silent and therefore we publicly demand: urgent suspension of the entire command structure in the MoI and the Public Security Bureau, who knew about pulse problems and did not respond; An independent investigation, outside the hands of those who have enabled the tragedy, in order to determine the protection of the Pulse facility to work and open a new process against all those who are actively working to conceal the truth and create monstrous cases as an alibi for the real culprits – said Arta Bilali Zendeli.
Regarding the demands of the opposition SDSM to set up an Inquiry Committee on the Tragedy in Kocani, and foreigners to include DUI in the investigation, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said yesterday that « they do not run away from any inquiry commission, but would like to expand it.
– I absolutely do not run away from any Inquiry Committee, I suppose either the VMRO -DPMNE parliamentary group and the coalition will not run away, but we would like to expand it with all these other court cases that ended in the way they ended up. So, we are ready to talk, to debate anyone who can help or add value – said Prime Minister Hrstijan Mickoski in response to a journalist question after a visit to Novo Selo.
SDSM MP Jovanka Trenchevska said today at a press conference in Parliament that they would support a proposal for such an inquiry commission, and that they are leaving the institutions for a professional and non-selective investigation into the tragedy in Kocani.
– We leave a chance to the institutions. The investigation is ongoing and that is why our view is that it needs to be professionally completed. Let’s not obstruct during the investigation. Upon completion of the investigation as SDSM we will come up with our future actions. The moment the investigation is completed depending on the results of the investigation. All the time, at the press conferences by the leadership and the MPs we leave a chance to see a non-selective and professional investigation and on the basis of the investigation we will build the future views of SDSM-Trenchevska said, responding to the question of whether SDSM will support the DUI’s idea of forming a parliamentary commission.
