Horror took place on the night of February 21-22, 2024 in Stary Miastków near Garwolin (Masovian Voivodeship). 19-year-old Patrycja M. gave birth to her son at home, but the same night she took his life.
Garwolin. Judgment on the murder of a newborn baby
– Being during childbirth and under the influence of its course, she deprived the life of her, living and capable of life of a newborn baby, without providing him with any help, including notifying people present at the place of delivery and calling for medical assistance. Immediately after delivery, she wrapped a newborn baby in elements of her clothing and placed in a plastic commercial, and then hid on the concrete stairs built -up with a bathroom cabinet, thus depriving the newborn of breathing, which led to the occurrence of acute circulatory -respiratory failure and, consequently, to the death of a child – said the District Prosecutor's Office in Siedlce.
It was added that at the time of committing the crime Patrycja M. She had a significant limited ability to recognize the meaning of the act and direct her behavior.
On March 11, 2025, the District Court in Siedlce issued a verdict in the case of Patrycja M. The woman was found guilty of committing the alleged crime and sentenced to the penalty of year and six months imprisonment. The verdict is not final.

Let's remind. On February 23, 2024, a 19-year-old appeared in the company of her mother in the Garwolin hospital. A young woman needed medical help after childbirth. When the doctors asked her where the child was, she returned with a macabre pack. In the commercial she brought the body of a newborn baby.
It was too late to help the little one. The doctors did not convince the translation of the young mother that her child was born dead. The police were called in, which stopped the 19-year-old.
The woman was charged with infanticide, That is, the child's murder of the mother during the delivery or under the influence of his course. This qualification of the act is associated with a milder punishment. The mother then faces 3 months to 5 years in prison. In the event of a murder, life imprisonment is the highest possible punishment.
The young woman was released from custody and was under police supervision.
