The dates for the playoffs of the 2024/25 season of the German ice hockey league have now been determined. There is still the possibility that individual playoff pairings can shift due to hall assignments, but the framework plan for the playoff date is. The K.O. games begin on Sunday, March 9, 2024, with the 1st round of playoff and extend to a maximum of April 29, when the master is crowned in the possible seventh final game.

DEL-Playoffs 2025: How does the mode work?

The pairings for the playoff games in the German ice hockey league (DEL) are defined in the main round in accordance with the placement of the teams. The first playoff round offers the start in which the « Best of Three » regulation is used. This means that a team only needs two victories to qualify for the next round.

From the quarter -finals, the mode then switches to « Best of Seven ». Specifically, this means that a team now needs four victories to win the current round. A crucial feature of this mode is that home rights change in every game. These regulations should enable the teams to adapt to both short and longer playoff series.

Which teams are there in the DEL playoffs 2025?

The winner of the main round was the ERC Ingolstadt this year. Furthermore, the Eisbären Berlin, the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven, the Adler Mannheim, the EHC Red Bull Munich and the Cologne Haie have qualified for the quarter -finals. 1. Playoff round:

The teams in places 7 to 10 of the main round qualify for the 1st playoff round. The seventh of the main round meets the tenth and the eighth on the ninth. The better placed has home rights in game one and three. The « Best of Three » regulation is used, with two victories required to progress.

More playoff rounds:

From the quarter-finals, the « Best of Seven » mode applies in all playoff rounds. Four victories are necessary to reach the next round or in the end to win the championship in the final. Home right changes here with every game.

The six best-placed teams in the main round and the two winners of the first playoff round are qualified for the quarter-finals. The four -finals’ four winners reach the semi -finals, and the two winners of the semi -final qualify for the final.

The pairings and the first home right in all playoff rounds are based on the placements of the qualified teams in the main round. The best -placed gets the last placed, the second -ranked one the penultimate, etc., with the better placed the first home right.
