(Gallery) Professor Mramor critically about the teachings of a flawed history
At the Faculty of Economics (EF), they presented a book You are doing everything wrong (Slovenia’s teachings of Slovenia’s economic coexistence in the EU)which he wrote Dušan Mramorone of the most respected Slovenian economists and longtime professor and dean of EF. The author has given his in -depth and critical insider view of our and European past history. As he wrote in the introduction, he « explained his hair in his tongue what was so wrong with the EU economic policy (fiscal rules, ECB’s monetary policy), in fact, with these coordination of economic policies that it had such a very negative impact on the economy of Slovenia during the second decade, from 2007 to 2016. »
With a comprehensive analysis, the author offers the realization that Slovenia urgently needs a major shift in development if it wants long -term sustainable social relations and favorable living conditions despite the aging of the population. Two key factors, more productivity and greater work activity lead to greater prosperity.
During his academic career, the two-time Minister of Finance was also in his academic career, in the governments of Anton Rop (2002-2004), when Slovenia entered the Union in demanding conditions and prepared to take over the euro and Miroslav Cerar (2014-2016), when we stood out from the deep economic crisis. He also published a model assessment of the efficiency of ten Slovenian governments in the book – prepared by economist Velimir Bole – according to the median of all members and new members of the Union. In both cases, the Cerar government received by far, with the government of Marjan Sarac (2018-2020) in second place, and the least effective was the government of Borut Pahor (2008-2012).
