Fuchs: ‘If necessary, we will extend the school year. Protesters jumped up ‘

Dissatisfied people in the system showed dissatisfaction with the response to the strike they organized, only 20 percent responded. The question is how the situation presented to these people, in an accurate way or manipulated as the union leaders do the whole time showing some comparisons, said the Minister of Science, Education and Youth Radovan Fuchs in Nova TV daily.

He reiterated that wages were increased and pointed out that educators, compared to other sectors, were not worse.

– In all systems you will find a part of the people who consider them to be misled. Everyone would want higher salaries, it is not disputed at all, and higher salaries should be given to people in the relations where this can be done. Schools work and function – he said.

– What the unions do, like this protest today, which in my opinion was below the level of good taste, although they think this contributes to the reputation of the teacher, but actually do a completely negative picture with those shouts and dumb jumps … – he continued.

He claims that it is not a problem in his approach, but in unions who, he says, rejected any attempt at agreement.

– How can you negotiate with someone who tells you today, and tomorrow you are playing you behind the corner, and that is continuously happening. Mr. Stipić, the head of this main union, signed only one single document. He said everything else he would sign and did not sign – Fuchs claims.

Will the school year be extended?

– I don’t know what they will do. I’m not an expert on a working law to tell you there. Let’s wait to see what they will do so we will see. If we need to extend the school year, we will extend the school year. To those who cannot fill the school calendo, ”he said.

He also commented on the announcement that unions would launch disputes against him and Minister Marin Piletic.

– Great, I am very interested in how the application will read. What will I say when I don’t know what and how someone can report me. After over three billion euros in investment in the education system, the construction of kindergartens and schools, huge investments, they think that the minister is not taking care of the education system. The government did not interfere with the union action, we just interpreted them what they needed and what I could do by law – Fuchs said.
