From Nordic Walking Lessons to Exceptional Excursion
« We have close relations with cities in the Nordic countries, we are constantly cooperating. We want to not only give meaning to this fellowship with Scandinavian Days, but Kaunas residents and city guests show how many Scandinavia are around us as our countries.
This is the sixth time that Kaunas residents are invited to experience the Scandinavian spirit. The weekly series of events will invite you to visit exhibitions, concerts, and participate in seminars, Nordic walking training, a battle or excursion.

Cinema Sessions and Exhibitions
A special cinema session for seniors will start Scandinavia Days. April 4 The film at the Romuva cinema will be previewed by the movie « Last Journey ». The film tells an emotional and fun story about his son and his father’s nostalgic journey through southern France, which should help regain the joy of life.
April 10 6 p.m. Hilma will be presented. The film tells the mysterious life of Hilma AF Klint, one of the first artists of modern art Swedish, whose unusual and very spiritual art remained almost unknown for many decades.
Those who like exhibitions and those interested in illustrations of art April 8th. Invited to visit Kaunas Vincas Kudirka Public Library in Šilainiai. The presentation of the Nordic Book illustrator exhibition « Visit Nabo Art Book » will take place here. The exhibition was based on a four -year MUCF project on the social inclusion of young people in the Swedish Youth and Civil Society Agency. The exhibition presents the works of eight illustrators on the subject.
Conferences and lectures
As usual, the Scandinavian days will be full of various presentations and discussions. April 9 The Education Forum “Teachers’ Leadership: Innovative Scandinavian Experiences” will be invited to the Kaunas Education and Innovation Center. Nordic experts will present their experience and scientific insights on the development of teachers’ leadership, the use of digital tools, learning aid reforms and improvement of teachers.
On April 9 and 10, the conference will be held « Creating Cities Together ». It will present four main aspects of the inclusion cities and share the experiences of refugees and migrant communities in host countries.
April 10 The Science Island will delve deeper into the Scandinavian interior. There will be a seminar « Nordic interior design: timeless elegance and sustainable innovation ». Experts will share insights on interior, architecture and visual culture – from minimalist aesthetics to sustainable solutions.
Workouts and excursion
The Nordic countries are inseparable from walking with Nordic sticks. This sport soon became popular in our country, and those who did not try will be able to do so during the Scandinavian days. On April 7 and 12
The Ąžuolynas Library will invite you to get to know the subtleties of walking with Nordic sticks and practically try this sport.
The cycle of events will be crowned with a walk around Kaunas to find Scandinavian manifestations. April 13 Kaunas will invite you to take a tour “Scandinavas in Kaunas”. Its participants will see and hear about the traces of Scandinavians in the temporary capital of various periods. The famous Norwegian F.
