From memories to color-Goran Boev and the road to sincere painting
Thirty works of the latest cycle of the rich and sumptuous opus of the artist Goran Boev from Kavadarci were exhibited last night at the Cultural Infrormative Center in Skopje.
The exhibition that aroused great interest among art lovers was opened under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, organized by the Kavadarci Museum Gallery.
What is that painting? This question that Goran Boev carries as a motivation in his work, leads him to travel through him, through his traces and memories in search of the essential emotion and depth of personal illustration of life. Luba, after meeting Cezan’s paintings in Paris, Boev faces the same question of the existence of painting and its meaning, demanding his way out of the intense colors and shapes that not only define his work but also expose his inner light. Reviewing one’s own painting manuscript is an essential part of his process of growth and evolution as an artist.
– Simplifying the form to the extent of what is essential, I try to embody my feelings and emotions as sincere as the drawing and color allow me. I have no need to act in front of myself or co -edge with the audience. On the canvas I convey that I wear as a memory and pregnant traces of childhood, traces of my own falls and lifting and even my own illusions. Whether it’s an ordinary portrait or the whole story I try to fully show my own self in front of me and my friends art lovers. Life is short and the artist must not keep the mirror of his soul under the question of time – said artist Goran Boev on the occasion of this exhibition.
For the curator of the exhibition art historian Trajce Cvetkov from the Museum-Gallery Kavadarci Goran Boev is an artist who is not only satisfied with the presentation of the physical world, but strives to discover the emotional, hidden dimension of his existence:
For him, art is not only a physical act of creation, but also to travels through his own traces of childhood and personal illusions. Based on these personal experiences he represents his soul and all that defines him as a man, an artist and an individual. These are not just pictures, these are ways of liberation, ways of sincere and transparent expression of his inner reality. Each Boev canvas becomes a space for contemplation and not only for it but also for spectacers. Each of his portraits, singer, every still life carries with him and an estrogen experience and personal illustration of time and his own. His works do not create them to be part of an idealized perception of art but creates them sincerely as a person with all the wounds and hopes not only creates art that embodies his inner journey but also making his soul accessible to us all. By doing so, it offers us not only pictures but also a way of thinking, for himself, about life, for art – says curaator Trajce Cvetkov.
Goran Boev was born in 1982 in Kavadarci. The High School of Applied Arts and the Faculty of Fine Arts graduated in Skopje and the Naist Faculty also completes postgraduate studies under the mentorship of prof. Simon Semov.
