State media reported that Russian researchers are investigating explosions on bridges as « terrorist acts ».
Russia has been hit by dozens of slaughter attacks since Moscow began its attack on Ukraine in 2022, many of which were targeted by its huge rail network. Kiev says the railways become targeted because they carry troops and weapons to the War of Ukraine.
‘The bridge was blown up’
The Bryansk official’s official said the disaster in his area was the result of an explosion.
« The bridge was blown up while crossing the Klimovo-Moscow train with 388 passengers, » Alexander Bogomaz told Russia’s public broadcasting body, according to Interfax.
Russia’s research committee later said that both bridges collapsed due to explosions. Prosecutors said they have begun investigating.
« There are seven dead as a result of the collapse of a bridge connecting the railway lines, » said Alexander Bogomaz, governor of the Bryansk area.
At least 66 others were injured, including three children, he said.
The train was going from the town of Climovo to Moscow, according to Russian railways. He clashed with the damaged bridge in the area of a federal highway in the Vigonitsky area of Bryansk District, Boyzaz, Bryansk’s ruler, said. The area is 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the border with Ukraine.

Silence from Ukraine
Ukraine, which Russia has accused of previous incidents, did not comment immediately.
An AFP journalist in downtown Moscow saw ambulances parked at the Kiev train station waiting for the arrival of injured passengers. The Russian Emergency Ministry said a team was on the spot in Bryansk, while Russian railways reported they had sent repairs.
