The US government has excluded smartphones, computers and many other technological products from mutual customs duties. The exception also includes customs duty to import from China. The White House published the change to the Poštem, only in a notification of the updates of trade policy, which was published on the US customs service on Friday night.
In a regular notice, the US customs service stated that certain goods will be exempt from 10 % customs duties applicable to most countries of the world, as well as from the much more extensive 125 % customs duties applicable to imports of goods from China. For the time being, it is not clear whether the import of technology products from China will still be subject to 20 % customs, which were introduced before 2 April. The White House has not yet responded to the British BBC for clarification.
The exception also includes other electronic devices and components, including semiconductors, hard drives, LCD screens, solar cells and memory cards.

The US has raised its Customs for Imports from China to a total of 145 % this week-taking into account 20 % customs, which Trump introduced a while ago for the alleged role of China at the Fentanil drug in the United States.
