From April 10, 84% fee for US products

China has decided to significantly increase tariffs on products imported from the United States, in response to the latest trading measures of the Trump administration. Starting April 10, tariffs will reach 84%, from 34% earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reported.

This decision marks a new escalation in trade tensions between the two largest economies in the world. According to the Chinese authorities, these measures are a response to the 104% net total tariffs the US has imposed on Chinese imports.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a press conference:
« If the US really wants to solve the problem through dialogue, it has to show an attitude of respect, equality and mutual benefit. China will take determined and strong measures to protect its interests. »

Beijing has reacted in a harsh language to US President Donald Trump’s decisions, calling them « threatening » and « mistake after error ».

Markets react immediately

The US -Kin trade tensions have restored global economic uncertainty, while both parties continue with mutual measures that are expected to have a widespread trade and investment.
