French President in Lisbon and Porto
The French president will be this Thursday in Lisbon and Friday in Porto to sign a set of political, economic and cultural bilateral agreements between Portugal and France. Emmanuel Macron has also scheduled several institutional meetings.
In addition to the deepening of human, economic and cultural relations between France and Portugal, there is the signing of a friendship and cooperation agreement between France and Portugal.
Today, in Lisbon, Emmanuel Macron, will honor the Portuguese poet Luís de Camões and will then meet with the homologist Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and with the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro.
On the agenda are issues related to Europe in terms of security and defense, as well as the accelerating of competitiveness and investment.
In the Assembly of the Republic, there will be a solemn session and exchange of impressions with the President of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, and the various presidents of the Portuguese parliamentary groups.
Then, at Santa Maria Manuela sailboat, attached to the Adamastor Cais, the Portuguese authorities transfer to macron the powers for the third edition of the UN Conference on the Ocean (the second took place in Lisbon in 2022), which will take place between June 9 and 13 this year in Nice (southern France).
Later, there will be a dialogue between Macron and the Mayor of Lisbon and former European Commissioner for Research and Innovation, Carlos Coins, in the Beato Innovation District, one of Europe's largest innovation and entrepreneurship centers.

On the second day, when the French head of state is on the way to meet the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, about a dozen bilateral agreements, including “a friendship agreement, a Franco-Portuguese cooperation agreement and a letter of intent of weaponry.
Also signed will be agreements of cultural, scientific and technical cooperation, police, cinematic co -production, in particular with the Center National de la Cinématographie, and an action plan in favor of higher education, science and innovation.
Macron also participates in a Franco-Portuguese business forum in Porto with Marcelo and Montenegro, focusing on France's economic and investment cooperation to Portugal, and ties between the two countries, as well as issues related to innovation, defense and preservation of sovereignty in Europe.
