A new fraudulent scheme aimed at older people has appeared in Ukraine. The attackers are represented by law enforcement officers, exalt money and demand diversions.

According to militiamen, the new scheme has spread in the capital and other cities of the country in recent months.

The attackers call the elderly (mainly in Viber), they are represented by employees of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and give illegal instructions.

One way of deception is to send fake stories in messengers demanding to be interrogated by « police » or « SBU ». The fraudsters are justified by allegedly open criminal proceedings.

In conversation with the victim of fraudsters, they are convinced that the purchased drugs were allegedly produced in Russia and forbidden in Ukraine. In exchange for this, they require pensioners to transfer a large amount of money to an unidentified bank card or transfer cash in person to the « agent ». Scams promise to repay the funds after their « Declaration » and « Verification ».

When the victim is aware that she has given strangers to their preservation, fraudsters continue to mislead it and blackmail it.

With the help of psychological pressure and manipulation methods, the attackers assure that they will return money if a person has diversions in Ukraine, in particular, it will illegally monitor others.
