Another fraud using the « blik-a » method
Yesterday, police from the Police Station in Gniew received a notification from a 73-year-old woman who was cheated on an online cheater. Someone who claimed her son wrote to the senior, claiming that his phone fell into the toilet and urgently needs money to buy a new device. A woman, convinced that she really talks to her child, immediately wanted to help, making three express transfers for a total amount of PLN 3,000.
How to protect yourself from fraudsters?
Policemen remind you of how not to be fooled: do not trust news in messengers, always call and confirm that you are really talking to a loved one. Do not act in a hurry, fraudsters hope you make a decision under the influence of emotions. Never share BLIK codes, set limits and online banking notifications – this is additional protection. Senior sensitis in your family, conversation is the best prevention.

If you have suspicions – react! Report the case to the police or by emergency number 112. Each application may help stop fraudsters and protect others from losses.
