frankly, about each other
Today, they are not only stage partners, colleagues, but also very good friends who say they would boldly call each other at midnight. I wonder if Iruna and Marius, who understand each other perfectly, know each other well in life and in life?
-When is your colleague celebrating her birthday, how old is it now and what is his or her zodiac sign?
Ip-ch.: Oh God! Marius is probably a lion and celebrates his birthday … Maybe August 17th? Years? Maybe what’s 44? But maybe more? After all, I am quite a few. Okay, let’s say Mari is 46. I hit?
MJ: Well, I don’t get in those horoscopes at all – some kind of coffee grounds. I don’t believe them. Iruna celebrates birthday in February, like 19th? What is her zodiac sign? I really don’t know. Now she should be (a long pause) … 35 years old!
-Do your colleague believe in horoscopes, happy numbers, mascots, etc.?
IP-Č: Marius? Now is not really, but once he had a leather bracelet that he didn’t take off even when he went on stage. Laima (our leader Laima Lapkauskaitė) was still angry that she was not suitable for stage clothes, but Marius refused that the bracelet had to be on his hand. Recently, I have somehow I no longer see her.
MJ: Iruna certainly has some superstitions in the life. I know you believe in numbers. For example, number 22. Says he is constantly accompanied by her.
-What does your colleague do before climbing the stage? Are you very excited?
Ip-ch.: Marius doesn’t really worry about it, but he knows I will worry, so he always asks how I feel. Then hugs, grinned heavily by the hands. Always take care of me and assures me that everything will be fine.
MJ: It often puts the palms in front of each other and flies with nails. I don’t even know how to name that action. But it’s not a prayer. She clamps her fingers and loads her nails like a rodent (crouches). This mood and action is a good English word Excitement. I would say such positive excitement before climbing the stage. Are you afraid? A little bit. However, a little fear of the artist has. But as soon as it climbs the stage, it all ends. Like me.

-Does your colleague have great demands on yourself and others? How do you share your duties in a couple?
Ip-ch.: In the past, while we were on the heart of the audience, Marius was certainly the one who put the most effort. He chose songs, took care of what our performances should look in a dramaturgical sense. Because it was never enough for us to sing with Mary: we wanted each song to be similar to a mini performance. Over the years, everything has been so hired in our duet that one word speaks and the other one. In a word, there is a mutual, equivalent, friendly creation. I could not even say that Marius is more responsible at the moment than I am. The same is true with Laima, which is also part of our team. Basically, we are currently doing everything in a threesome. Is Marius demanding? Demanding, but I don’t go down either. We demand from each other until the show becomes maximally good. Only now is that criticism and comments expressed in a very friendly tone.
MJ: Iruna is more demanding to myself than for me. Maybe because I am demanding enough for myself. As soon as we started our concert activities, I was responsible for the shows, L. Lapkauskaitė – for my singing, but in fifteen years everything was intertwined. Now there are no strict competences – we do everything together.
-What makes your colleague most nervous during rehearsals, concerts?
Ip-ch.: For stage clothes. Let’s say Laima chooses stage clothes, and Marius begins to spray that they are uncomfortable, they can’t sit down, kneel, jump. If there were his will, he would probably go to sing with jeans and t -shirts. Marius wants to feel free and comfortable on stage. Do you surrender to our pressure? Of course. What is he left when two against one? (Laughs.)
MJ: From the questions I see that you do not know the Iuna … No nerves it shows: there is always a very clear job. Both Iruna and I – We are both workers. Professionals. Therefore, we know what and how we want. All you have to do is consult and seek the best result. True, at the very beginning, Iruna felt as if in the pupil’s position. Maybe because of age difference, life experience? But now she has grown that shirt, and we have become equal stage partners.
It was never enough for us to sing with Mary: we wanted each song to be similar to a mini performance.
-What are your fellow goals in life? What matters most at the moment?
Ip- Č.: I would say that the most important thing for Maris is being with yourself now. He has been on the path of sobriety for the sixth year. During that time he became absolutely another person and rediscovered himself. Marius set up a recording studio and started making music. Now, I think the most important thing for him is the author’s creation, to which he spends a lot of time and, in my opinion, he is doing well. If you had less work, you would probably like to spend even more time on self -expression. Could even live in that studio (laughs). By the way, one of his songs Marius has dedicated me to me. I contributed to her in the vocals. We also filmed a video clip. You can see Jutube. The song is called « Liepa ».
MJ: Not only at this point, but Iruna is the most important thing in her family, children, greenhouse and to put their fingers in the ground. In the sense of career? No matter how strange it may sound, Iruna is not a careerist. She accepts all concert activities as a job that helps her contribute to the maintenance of the family. It does not contain egoism. She does not clarify to be first. She just likes singing and she does it with great ignition and sincerity.
-The city where your colleague likes to give a concert?
Ip-ch.: I think Maris likes to sing in all Lithuanian cities, because when our duo tours are going on, people come specifically to us. Those who like us know and sing our songs together. It doesn’t matter what the city is – big or small. We are well accepted by Klaipeda, Šiauliai. I guess that maybe only Marius in his native Kaunas should feel a little more stress? At least for me, the tension is always higher when I perform.
MJ: I would say maybe Kaunas? Although there is no particular city.
– What kind of strangest rumor have you heard of each other?
Ip-ch.: It’s not just about the lagoon, but rather about us. It is strange to me that people are still sharing us, though both articles in the media and our speeches on this topic have been … We both have beautiful families, we love our second half, we are raising children, but people are still shining us. I think those rumors will smooth until we sing together. Do our families know each other? Yes. Congratulations to each other during the holidays, but we do not participate in general parties. When we go out at the sea and take the families together, the children really find a common language. At least my gloria always asks if Marius’ hope will be, even though he is half -younger than her.
MJ: Probably the one thing – that we are a couple.
-Does your colleague have a pet? If I asked to imagine what animal are you similar to each other?
Ip-ch.: I think Marius has two dogs and maybe two cats. What animal would be best for him by character? Hmm… Whatever Marius loved dogs, I still think he is a cat. Because he likes loneliness, likes to slip alone. He would love to have someone to pat, to hold on. I think he could freely leave and live on an uninhabited island for a while to rest from everything. I? Certainly not.
MJ: As far as I know, Iruna’s home seems to be no animal. Are there? If you got to buy something? Could the dog. Of course, she would like something smaller, but in my opinion, a larger breed dog would be more suitable. Maybe a shepherd? What does Iruna look like in character? (Long pause.) For me, it is not associated with any animal category. Well, unless … Bite! Because they are very hardworking, do a lot of everything and bring it to their homes (laughs), and if anyone on that bees were to mention, they would be guilty: gel painfully. Iruna knows how to defend.
– If you felt very bad and would you like to talk, would you dare to call the night?
IP: Without problems. I often call Mari, but obviously not at midnight. Oh Marius? He usually calls me anyway, just to ask how I keep. But if there were any trouble or disaster, I really think he would be in the first three people I would ask for help.
MJ: Of course. Only such a dramatic case was not yet available. But if it were ever such, I would call it boldly.
– The best gift for a birthday?
Ip-ch.: For Mari, it’s a time spent together. He would like it if I offered to go to the Ventė horn for a hour. We would be talked or silent no matter.
MJ: Personal, personalized. Something that would be made by their own hands is made. To feel that she was thinking about her. Definitely not something from the store.
-How much money for your stage partner in life?
Ip-ch.: Only important as much as related to the well -being of his family. Marius himself, I think, could walk barefoot and bare, live in a tent and not turn his head for money. His personal needs are very modest. Before his eyes, the image, as he receives a royalty after a concert, simply simply intervenes that money in his pocket, while we put it with Laima much safer.
MJ: She is one of those women who are always satisfied with what they have.
-How do your colleague deal with the household?
Ip-ch.: Do you ask if Marius would pay the dripping bathtub to fix it? If there was a man who could do it for him, I think Marius would choose this option. I wouldn’t say he was interested in life. Would be more involved in activities that would really intrigue it. But changing the bulb would definitely pay! As far as I know, installing a house for him was a cathorga, so instead of household, he would be much more involved in creative work.
MJ: Home, their management is her world, her meditation. Concerts are her work. Iruna is well able to distinguish those two worlds. Therefore, you will never see them at Bohemian parties because she rushes home after the concert – her husband, children. I know the Iruna family, but we do not communicate with families. After all, we steal each other from our families.
It does not contain egoism. She does not clarify to be first. She just likes singing and she does it with great ignition and sincerity.
-Does your colleague like to spin in the kitchen?
Ip-ch.: I will not be mistaken to say that Marius is a very good chef. Once upon a time, he had to taste his raft, it was delicious, but … After his culinary trip, the chef did not arrange: the rice saw everywhere … Where did it cook? In America. We had some concerts there. He housed us with people, and Marius thought of preparing dinner. The pilaf was really delicious, but the mess after it was also quite a lot (laughs).
MJ: I think so. I have tasted something made by her. It was delicious. But after concerts, we often eat in cafes.
-Do your colleague like to have a sweet tooth?
Ip-ch.: I don’t think. Often, if we go to dinner after a concert, Marius chooses a duck breast dish. I would say it is quite picky and even harassed for food. It is difficult for Maris to please. Rarely says it was delicious. Probably because it produces well and knows how well it should be.
Mj: I don’t think Imuna is a sweet tooth. I would say more carnivores.
-Which description is more suitable for: optimist or pessimist?
Ip-ch.: Oh, Marius is a complete optimist and that optimism infects everyone around himself.
MJ: Iruna is a realist with a tendency to optimism. Really.
Or to the top ten?
Both Marius and Iruna answered the questions separately. Let’s see how both evaluated each other’s answers.
Iruna: In fact, it is not very important to me whether Marius knows what my zodiac sign is or not, as is the size of my shoes. Most importantly, he knows what I need most when I am sad or when there is no mood. And he knows these things perfectly! Marius feels me perfectly. On the other hand, when you know everything about a person, it is no longer interesting … I think there are many conversations about everything in the future, because the topics of our conversations are inexhaustible. And about each other.
Marius: Is I what I was drawn by Iruna? The only observation is an inaccurate birthday date. Everything else is in the top ten! You seem not to be surprised, but when you read those things about yourself from its perspective, somehow newly and look at yourself. I caught myself thinking how happy I am, that someone knows and accepts me so well. The longer I live, the more I understand how important it is.
