France’s ex-President Sarkozy is going
After only three months, France’s convicted ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy got rid of his ankles. The 70-year-old conservative was granted a detention under conditions, as the Parisian public prosecutor’s office of the German Press Agency confirmed.
Sarkozy had been sentenced to three years in prison for bribery and unauthorized influence. Two of them are exposed to probation, one should serve with a boost at home. The electronic device was created in early February.
Sarkozy can now enjoy more freedom again. He was only allowed to leave the house with the ankle bracelet between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. There were exceptions when he had to appear in court for another process. Nevertheless, the former star of the bourgeois right in France must now note: If he drives abroad or traveling more than 15 days, he needs a judicial approval.

The fact that Sarkozy was going on after a few months is his age: because he is already 70 years old, he was able to apply for detention before serving half of his punishment. It was only in December that the Court of Justice confirmed the judgment against Sarkozy as the highest French court. The punishment was unprecedented for a former head of state in recent French history.
