Fr. Vladimir Vidovic, a Franciscan from the Holy Spirit of Zagreb, has been acquitted of all charges of sexual harassment in a church investigation conducted by the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith from the Vatican, the portal reported I believe.hr. The State Attorney’s Office of the Republic of Croatia (DORH), meanwhile, rejected one of the two complaints against Vidovic, while the other is still in the investigation phase.

According to the portal information, the Vatican Congregation had completed a comprehensive investigation conducted just over two months ago in accordance with strict church procedures related to cases of sexual abuse of minors. It was determined that Fr. Vidovic did not commit any criminal offense and was allowed to return to the service. Nevertheless, according to church sources, Vidovic decided that he would not return to his duty until the DORH was completing an investigation into another application.

Two criminal charges have been filed against the Franciscan, which originated from two sixteen -year -old theologians and candidates for religious life in the community of Franciscans of Conventuals. One of the applications DORH rejected, while the other was not yet concluded. According to the information from the investigation, both applications related to allegedly sexual harassment, with the emphasis on the content of the SMS and the mobile messages that Vidovic sent to the applicants. The Vatican, however, did not find elements of the crime in these messages.

Portal Nacional He also announced that he owns internal documents of the Church, showing that the church investigation did not find the foundations for the initiation of church-legal procedures against Vidovic. According to Nacional’s sources, Vidovic expects another report to be rejected as well, while the applicant and witness from the same application are expecting the indictment.

Fr. Vladimir Vidovic remains outside the service so far, and his return to the religious community will depend on the outcome of the state investigation.
