Found one of the black boxes of the plane that crashed in India
Investigators recovered a black box at the scene of the Air India plane crash, bound for London, who drew in a residential area of the city of Ahmedabad, India, killing at least 265 people, including passengers on board and people who were on site hit by the device.
The incident occurred shortly after the takeoff, and a rescue request was issued shortly before it crashed around Thursday lunch time.
On board followed 242 people, ten crew members, two pilots, and 230 passengers, seven with Portuguese nationality, 169 Indians, 53 British and a Canadian. At least one of them survived. « Initially, I also thought I was about to die, but then I opened my eyes and realized it was still alive, » said Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a British citizen, who suffered burns and is hospitalized in a hospital.
Police vice-compensation Kanan has said that, so far, 265 bodies have been accounted for, suggesting that at least 24 people have died on land, but this number may increase as searching in the rubble continues.
« The official number of dead will be released only after the completion of the DNA tests, » said Interior Minister Amit Shah. DNA samples of family members of the dead living abroad will be collected.
