On Saturday, May 10, investigators charged 25-year-old Karolina G. and 26-year-old Arkadiusz G., foster parents of a tragically deceased 3-year-old girl from Słupsk. According to « Fakt » District Prosecutor Magdalena Kasperska, both suspects They heard the charge of causing severe injury with a fatal effect.
– These are preliminary allegations. We are submitting to the court applications for detention on remand – the prosecutor said.
They looked after the eight of the children
The foster family, as investigators established, looked after a total of eight children – six in foster care and two of their own. All children have already been secured. According to the prosecutor’s office, the suspect is punishable by life imprisonment.
When asked by journalists, or any of the detainees could be a police officer, the prosecutor replied: – I do not confirm, I do not deny.
The defender of Karolina G., lawyer Jędrzej Kuczma, informed earlier that his client had explained and did not plead guilty. In an interview with the media, he called the « huge tragedy », but he emphasized that his knowledge shows, that there was an accident while taking care of the child.
The child had extensive burns
The tragedy took place on May 9. A 3-year-old girl with extensive burns was taken to the hospital in Słupsk. It is said that they could cover up to 70 percent. body surface. Her condition was critical. As the doctors later said, the child was extremely destroyed and dehydrated. Despite the efforts of the medics, he could not be saved. Foster parents were detained on the same day.

Silence in the countryside, shock among neighbors
The journalist of « Fakt » visited a village in the Kobylnica commune, where a foster family lived and where the tragedy took place. It is a quiet town located about 20 km from Słupsk. Residents do not want to talk about the case. They only say that they only saw the arrival of ambulances and then the police. They don’t know what exactly happened. In conversations, there was a stir and compassion. Many neighbors did not hide that they had a positive opinion about young carers – there were no complaints before, there were no objections. « They always seemed caring, » say those who knew them by sight.
