– Formous special rights – altaposten.no
The members of the Storting’s presidency, except Frp’s representative there, have now made a proposal that the Sami Parliament and other representatives of Sami interests should be entitled to consultations with the Storting.
Thus, the Sami Parliament will be entitled to consultations (read; right to negotiations.) Also with the Storting. This is in addition to the right to consultations with the government and its underlying bodies, the county councils with its underlying bodies and the municipalities with its underlying bodies. This last down to the very smallest committee in a municipality.
No other group in Norway, ethnic minority or not, has been awarded such a formidable special right to promote their own interests to the authorities. The Sami also have the same rights, as a Norwegian citizen otherwise, to influence the authorities’ decisions through the ordinary decision -making system.
In addition, there are a number of other statutory special rights to the Sami.
This indicates that the majority of the parties in the Storting and their parliamentary representatives have a social-darwinist-inspired view of the Sami, which assumes that the Sami in Norway are so back for the other population in Norway that they need a number of political privileges and special rights to be able to cope with the same as the people in Norway.
This view of the Sami clearly has « neck roofs » on these parties and its parliamentary representatives, despite the fact that reality tells something else. I mention some examples of this:
1. Several parliamentary representatives are Sami.
2. The Minister of Fisheries is a same.
3. The Director of Fisheries is a same.
4. The county mayor of Finnmark and Troms is a same. In addition, a number of county council representatives are Sami.
5. A number of mayors and municipal council members are Sami. For example, the mayor of the municipality of Tromsø is a same.
6. A survey that Statistics Norway has recently conducted, revealed that those registered in the Sami Parliament’s electoral figures, on average, have a higher education than the other population in Norway.
I stop here.
The parties at the Storting have so far been totally disinterested in conducting a survey on what is the Sami’s present situation when it comes to such as education, positions in society, wages, wealth, positions of trust, demographics, etc.
The Sami policy of the majority of the parties in the Storting and its parliamentary representatives is displaced from reality. It is thus dogma -controlled. The dogma originates in NSR and CO’s disgraceful, poor storytelling about the Sami. This story also has the parliamentary representatives have been indoctrinated for many decades.
This indicates that most parliamentary representatives have a social darwinistic-inspired view of the Sami.
