Former policeman Tomasz J. and the murder of the priest. There are new arrangements
It was evening on February 13 this year, when the inhabitants of Kłobucka They heard terrifying screams coming from the presbytery. Policemen who arrived at the place discovered in the basement the embarrassed body of the priest, priest Grzegorz Dymek († 58). At that time, the masked man tried to escape from the property. Scenes like from the action movie took place in front of witnesses.
The attacker ran into the parked car and tried to drive away. However, a policeman who pursed, opened the car door and pulled the keys out of the ignition. He was helped by a random passerby – senior width Marcin Hudy, an officer of the prison service from the coat of arms, who walked near the dog. He removed the chimney sweep and overpowered the man with the policeman. As it turned out, it was Tomasz J.
Who is the suspect?
Tomasz J. is a former police officer. He worked in Częstochowa, but his career lasted only five years. In 2001, he was disciplined from service due to alcohol problems. Could his past affect what happened that unlucky day?
Investigators determined that the priest had been strangled. It is suspected that the motive of the crime was robbery. The priest was to announce in the church that during the carol he collected as much as PLN 80,000. Tomasz J. could count on easy loot, but he did not know that the money was previously paid to the bank account.
Interestingly, Tomasz J. confessed to the murder, but so far he did not explain why he did it. According to Wyborcza.pl, there were even rumors that the crime could have been the result of sick jealousy about his wife, but investigators did not find any evidence to confirm this theory.
Will be observed
Everything seems to indicate that Tomasz J. acted alone. He came to Kłobuck with a stolen Volkswagen, and he had no partners on the spot. However, now the most important question is: was he fully aware of his deeds?
The man was examined by expert psychiatrists and psychologists, but their opinions are not clear. That is why the prosecutor applied to the court for permission to place a former policeman in a psychiatric hospital, where he will be subjected to detailed observation.
The family took the floor
Tomasz J.’s family issued a statement in which she regretted the tragedy and apologized to the inhabitants of Kłobuck for her relative. Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Kłobuck still can’t believe what happened.
– He was a holy man. You have to have no conscience to do something like this to our beloved priest – Jarosław Verson (31 years old) said in an interview with « Fakt », shortly after the tragedy. – The priest was able to listen, understand. He lived like a saint and died like a saint. For me he was like a uncle, dad, friend, someone closest – he added.
Investigators are waiting for another opinion
What will happen to Tomasz J.? This will depend on the long psychiatric observation of the perpetrator. It may take 6 to 8 weeks. If the experts decide that he was readable, investigators formulate an indictment. Then he will even threaten life imprisonment. If he turns out, he was not aware of what he does, he may wait for detention and placement in a closed psychiatric institution.
