Former hospital director, convicted of pandemic offenses
The former manager of Caracal Hospital and former mayor of Liviu Radu's city was sentenced by the Olt Court to a sentence of three years and eight months in prison in a case regarding corruption offenses when he drove the medical unit, according to the solution posted on Friday on the court's website.
The epidemiologist Liviu Radu was mayor of Caracal city between 2016 and 2020 and in Pandemic he was manager of Caracal Hospital.

In the same case, the former financial director of Caracal Marian Mitran Hospital was sentenced to three years and eight months.

Liviu Radu and Marian Mitran must be in solidarity 370,000 lei to the Health Insurance House, as well as other amounts to the civil parties in the file.
The manager of the Caracal Municipal Hospital during the Covid-19 Pandemic, Dumitru-Liviu Radu, and the financial director of the same period, Marian Mitran, were sent to court by the prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate-Craiova Territorial Service for obtaining European funds through false statements and abuse in the service.
According to a statement of the National Anticorruption Directorate-Craiova Territorial Service, between December 2020-March 2021, in the context of approving support measures settled from European funds, as a result of the spread of Covid-19, the two would have taken several steps to obtain illegally to some European funds, in the form of some risk and subsequently, in the form.

The prosecutors also claimed that later from the amount obtained illegally the two would have abusively ordered the payment to 136 persons of undue risk incentives, in a total value of 326,250 lei, and during the same period, in violation of the legal provisions, the manager would not have ordered the risk incentives (in total value 45,000 lei) for 19 persons) for 19 persons to possess them.
