Former director of Cernavoda Hospital, sent to court

Former director of Cernavoda Hospital, Marius Sponoche, was sent to court, in a state of preventive arrest, for taking bribes, the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) Constanța informed.

According to the quoted source, the DNA – Constanța Territorial Service ordered the prosecution, in a preventive arrest, of the defendant Sponoche Marius Ion, manager of the Cernavoda City Hospital, for committing the crime of bribery. He would have claimed 30,000 euros from a company employed to rehabilitate sections of the medical unit.

‘On July 29, 2024, between the Cernavoda City Hospital, represented by the defendant Sponoche Marius Ion, as a manager, and the commercial company managed by the defendant ME, a contract was concluded representing renovation and modernization of the OPERATOR BLOCK AND DEPARTMENT, worth 1,099,026 lei. During January 2025, based on a preliminary agreement, as manager of the Cernavoda City Hospital (institution financed from the UAT Cernavoda budget), the defendant Sponoche Marius Ion would have claimed the amount of 30,000 euros, from the defendant Me, through the defendant Cocor Laura Iuliana, in the office, in the office, The budgeting, concluding and execution of the aforementioned contract ‘, is mentioned in the statement sent by DNA Constanța.

On February 11, 2025, out of the total amount claimed, the defendant Sponoche Marius Ion would have received from the defendant Cocor Laura Iuliana the amount of 15,000 euros, money from Me – the representative of the commercial company, for the purpose mentioned.

In order to confiscate extended, insurance measures were ordered on some buildings belonging to the former director of the Cernavoda City Hospital.

The file was sent for trial to the Constanta Court with the proposal to maintain the preventive measures and the insurers ordered.

Regarding the defendants Me and Cocor Laura Iuliana, the case was disposed of, says DNA.
