Foreign tourists began to act actively hotels in Russia
The beginning of the high season was successful for the entrance tourism market. The number of hotel reservations made by foreigners in Russia for the first half of May increased by 40%by a year, primarily at the expense of guests from Asia and the countries of the Middle East. This is explained by the expansion of the air traffic and the facilitation of the visa regime. The growth of the arrival of Intourists positively affects the loading of hotels, but Russians continue to play the main role for them.
The number of reservations of accommodation on May 1-15, made by foreign tourists in Russia, increased by 40% by the year, was calculated in the Ostrovka. In January – April, growth, according to analysts, was less pronounced and amounted to 16%. In the Intourist recorded an increase in the entrance flow in the first 10 days of May by 27% of the year. The volume of reservations for the coming summer, according to the company, grew 3.4 times.
In Vasta Hotel Management (also controls objects in the Mountain Cluster of Sochi) noted an increase in the number of intourists’s reservations in May by 45% of the year by the year. Now the company receives many requests for long -term residence in the summer from guests from Arab countries. Cosmos Hotel Group during the May holidays noted an increase in the stream of intorers by 54% a year by the year. The most pronounced increase was in the hotels of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Azimut Hotels say that the increase in the number of Intourists in May was recorded in Moscow hotels, and they associate this with the celebration of Victory Day.
May is the beginning of a high season, which usually lasts until the end of September in entrance tourism. An increase in arrival at this time is a stable trend. According to the FSB border services, in January -March, foreigners made 228.9 thousand trips to Russia for the purpose of tourism, the value of the year increased by 4.6%by the year. But compared with the 2019 pre -crisis, the indicator is less than 51.3%. Vice-President of the Association of Russian Tour operators Sergey Romashkin does not exclude that according to the results of the whole year, the number of arrival in Russia may exceed the 2019 indicator. “It will be possible to achieve this if nothing happens to the Chinese market,” he remarks.
The managing director of Ostrovka Daria Kochetkova connects an increase in the number of intorers with the expansion of the air traffic and efforts to simplify the visa regime. Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Economy Nikita Kondratyev records a multiple of interest in Russia by tourists from the countries of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, associating it, including with the efforts to promote the direction.
The main volume of hotel reservations from abroad, according to Ostrovka, is formed by guests from Belarus, China and the UAE. The representative of Intourist Daria Domostroeva says that tourist groups from Europe appeared on the market, there is an explosive increase in profit from Vietnam and Thailand. According to Ostrovka, the number of reservations by citizens of Kuwait on May 1–15 increased by 81%year by the year, India by 65%, Turkey – by 31%, Saudi Arabia – by 25%.
The growth of the entrance tourist flow positively affects the loading of Russian hotels, the hotel management is noted at the Vasta Hotel. According to BNOVO, at the first May holidays, the average occupancy of city hotels in Russia was 58%, adding 17% to the year. For apartments, the increase was similar, up to 68%. In the suburban hotel segment, growth was 21%, up to 59%. The second May holidays turned out to be less successful: analysts did not record a significant increase in filling. Azimut Hotels notes that the Intourists do not occupy a significant share in the structure of demand: mainly compatriots travel around Russia. According to Travelline, the total number of reservations of accommodation on May holidays increased by 24.3% year by the year.
Daria Domostroeva says that in addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, foreign tourists make a large number of trips to the cities of the Golden Ring, the Trans-Siberian Railway, the Irkutsk Region and Buryatia, visiting Baikal. With interest, according to her, Vladivostok is using. In the first half of May, the number of reservations of foreign guests in the city grew one and a half times a year by the year, the island noted. For Volgograd, the indicator doubled, Novosibirsk – by 49%, Moscow – by 44%, Kazan – by 33%.
On average, in Russian hotels, according to Ostrovka, it cost foreigners in May 9.7 thousand rubles, 13% more than a year earlier. The most expensive reservations in the first half of May were made by guests from Saudi Arabia (16.9 thousand rubles per night), Kuwait (16.1 thousand rubles) and the UAE (13.3 thousand rubles), the service noted. The most budget accommodation options are chosen by guests from Belarus (5.8 thousand rubles per night), Kazakhstan (7.1 thousand rubles) and China (7.6 thousand rubles).
