The direction of Macedonian foreign policy is clear – strategic partnership with the United States, NATO membership and staying on the road to the unfulfilled strategic goal – full membership with the European Union, sources in the MFA are briefing, MIA reports.

Regarding the vote of restraint in the United Nations for Ukraine resolutions, they say the country has managed to maintain a position that is both principled and within the three priorities of our foreign policy – NATO membership, compliance with the EU's common foreign and security policy and our formal strategic partnership.

They say that before the decision was made, they had serious consultations and a number of analyzes, and that nothing changed in compliance with the EU's common foreign and security policy. They add that it has been voted on for principled policy agreed between the coospors, which means that any vision of the resolution meant that the country would vote for restrained in that resolution.

Regarding the frequent dynamics of visits to the United States, sources say that frequent visits to US government officials are aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, but they say, due to the fact that we still cannot start negotiations with the EU and the role of the new administration in the process.

MFA sources, who insist on anonymity, express confidence that all the challenges that the transatlantic partnership has for some time will be overcome again and that we will set ourselves up to our interest, and a key unfulfilled political goal that has been actively working in the EU, that is the EU, that is, the EU is not a full -time EU membership.

The same sources add that the country is not ready to send troops to Ukraine at this point and that we must not allow any security vacuum from a regional point of view as a NATO member state, adding that our focus in the coming period must be in our region and in the Eastern and South Wing.

MFA sources reiterated the state position that Russia had carried out military aggression against Ukraine, but at the same time, they added, they believe it has come time for diplomacy and peace and that every initiative that is aimed at finding peace has come.
