For twenty of the injured in Kocani the healing process may take up to two years
Twenty of the injured in the Kocani accident will need a longer -term rehabilitation, some of them that the process of healing could take up to two years. This was pointed out today by the Minister of Health, Arben Taravari, who noted that all necessary activities for the reception and prolonged care of all the injured in the accident were reported within the ministry.
– Evaluation has been made by UK experts on how long it will take for their rehabilitation. We already have the list of everyone who will be kept longer abroad. We already know how long their rehabilitation would last – said Taravari.
He said the duration of the rehabilitation varies, the process of their recovery could take between one to 24 months in more severe cases.
– About 20 patients will need prolonged rehabilitation … They are preparing a center at the « September 8 » hospital. We also have offers from several countries for free long -term rehabilitation – he said.
Taravari pointed out that attempts will be made to provide funds to cover the cost of staying for family members of those patients who will remain rehab abroad for a long time.
Regarding the condition of the injured in the accident in Kocani, the latest information is that of 47 patients who are treated abroad only one is in critical health.
« One of the two who was critical, today is better and we hope that the situation will improve, » Taravari said.
The return of any of the injured who is being treated abroad is not foreseen today. One of them is announced during tomorrow.
Currently, there are five hospitalized patients in the country’s health facilities, two at St. Naum Ohridski and Sistina Hospital, while only one patient is hospitalized at the Plastic Surgery Clinic, and two are treated in the clinic, or rehabilitated at home.
