The survey will take place until August 1. Currently, 335 inhabitants have already expressed their opinion.

Klaipeda District Municipality would like to know the opinions of residents before changing the waste removal arrangements in 2026.

Green waste is removed once a month in the area.

« The inhabitants of Sendvaris eldership have claimed that the green waste is rarely removed. Other elderships have complained. We think that such a service could be paid. We certainly cannot be included in the fee.

The district municipality is currently preparing to buy a toll conversion methodology service.

« The size of the toll will depend on whether a person has a green waste container, whether it composts green waste. We strive to meet people’s needs. Those who compost will be able to abandon the green waste container and thus reduce the fee. We hope to differentiate the amount of tolls. Bakaitienė.

Towards paid services

There are residents who have two composting boxes on the plots, and the long -decaying green waste is crushed and transported to green waste.

The amounts of cut grass sometimes are so large that it is shunt in composting boxes and helps to multiply invasive slugs.

« Vilnius or Kaunas offers paid services. About ten euros cost such a service. But keep in mind that the scales of Klaipeda district are completely different. There are long distances, » noted R. Bakaitienė.

On the one hand, it is encouraged to compost green waste, but it is likely that suburban residents, whose housing houses are located on only a few acres, do not have to compost long -term green waste – fruit tree branches, hedge residues, cut grass, and cut grass.

Carrying more often in the city

Currently, residents of Klaipėda district can transport green waste to the green waste collection sites located near Vėžaičiai village and near Vėžaičiai.

In Klaipeda, green waste from apartment buildings and individual houses is removed weekly during the summer. The cold season is transported once.

In the Klaipėda district, the green waste is not removed throughout the winter season. In summer, containers are emptied once a month.
