For Roman Becvar, the family comes first
The Red Boys can win the handball championship for the first time since 2016 on Saturday (8:15 p.m.). With a win or a draw, the Differdinger stay in front of the home side in the table and are allowed to celebrate.
It will be an emotional farewell for an actor: Roman Becvar returns to his Czech homeland Pilsen after four years in the summer. In the coming season, he will run at a German third division team playing near the border and end his long handball career there. « I leave Luxembourg after four beautiful and successful years for purely family reasons. I got a lot of offers, but I want to take care of my family now, » says the 36-year-old.

In addition, the former handball professional as a youth coach was involved in his home club and also made the appearance a fitness coach. « I will work as a personal trainer in a gym, but not full -time, » says Becvar his future plans.
In addition to the Czech, five other protagonists will no longer belong to the Differdinger squad in the new season: coach Nikola Malesesvic, goalkeeper Matej Mudrinjak and Chris Auger as well as the back room players Brice Aillaud and Yacine Rahim. According to team manager Claude Reder, the team will be clearly rejuvenated. The accesses of goalkeeper Guillaume Felici and Romuald Murera from HB Käerjeng are considered fixed.

The focus, however, is at the season finale on Saturday. Twice cup winners and once runner -up became Becvar with the Red Boys. Now the crowning glory should follow with the championship title. « Each of the four seasons had its special features. It was great that we were able to win the trophy again after a long time and then defended it, » says the 36-year-old.
The Red Boys narrowly missed the championship twice, but overall it was a great time in the Grand Duchy. « It was a huge experience for me here in Luxembourg. I got to know a lot of people and new languages and can make a number of friendships. I will miss that, but the contact will remain, » said the Czech.
The famous momentum
« It’s a bit crazy that it is the last game for me, » says Becvar, who wants to take the chance to become a master after a long season with many breaks. « Berchem played a good season, but we want to reward ourselves, » he says, but also knows about the explosiveness of the duel: « It’s about the championship, you shouldn’t be too emotional. »

« We have to attack Raphaël Guden and Ben Weyer and try to stop them. We have to be physically present and, especially from the start, do not give up nervousness. For the players, it is now time to bite your teeth for the last time to make the big dream of the new championship after eight years of reality.
