For lonely grandparents – children’s gifts
According to the organizers of Klaipeda Children’s Leisure Center, the idea of the initiative was born last year, and this year students of the Port City Leisure Center « Flames » and « Friendship » came together to realize it again.
Thus, in cooperation with organizations « Red Noses. Healing Clowns » and the Order of Malta’s Assistance Service aimed to delight the lone grandparents with handmade gifts.
There were creative workshops where the students lovingly made gifts: from handmade ceramic articles to decorations created in the technology circle. These activities developed artistic skills, developed empathy, community, understanding.

« This initiative was born last year, when the community had a sincere desire to share kindness and delight single grandparents. Over the years, it grew into a beautiful tradition to continue and develop. The project not only engages students in creative activities, but also helps them to share their hearts – sincere, love and concern. » Klumbytė.
During the creative process, the students had the opportunity to meet the representatives of these organizations and listen to the importance of volunteering.
« This project has become not only a creative process but also a meaningful social experience: as many as a hundred Easter gifts for single grandparents were created. The initiative, born of children’s desire to share kindness, gained a special meaning – it became a symbol of community, sincerity and hope. This is a lesson for life, inviting each of us to create a brighter world with its kindness, ”emphasized U. Klumbytė.
