Claes Hemberg notes that the German car brand risks a fine of about 32 billion if they are unable to adapt quickly enough.

« What happens is that the automotive industry decides to manufacture cars that ordinary people can afford. Therefore, we will see a wave of new models from the giants for spring as they have to increase their eland and avoid as many fines as possible, » he says.

Despite the financial challenges and sharp demands, it seems that consumers can become the big winners.

The new rules can transform electric cars from luxury goods into something that many more can afford, and more car manufacturers may be forced to introduce discounts or campaigns to make sure they reach their emission quotas.

While the automotive industry expresses dissatisfaction and frustration over the EU's tight regulation, consumers are cheering as there is a prospect of cheaper vehicles.
