Stunning differences

Almost one -fifth of the new cars sold in Portugal and Greece are included in the list of repairs to be repaired. Meanwhile, in Belgium or Great Britain, the number is as much as five times lower.

Such paradoxes about transport were revealed by a broad study, which included as many as 26 states.

As you know, factory defects can be taverns that the buyer will not feel. However, there are also those that can pose a fairly serious risk to driver and passenger safety. Occasionally, the disadvantages of the car are only pronounced after a while, so manufacturers are obliged to inform the drivers of the necessary repairs to the repair of such transport immediately in such circumstances.

Often, however, drivers do not react or forget to take care of their own car to the so -called cancellation, so many vehicles with unstoppable factory flaws on the roads.

Waiting for updates

Carvertical experts of car data company conducted an investigation to find out which countries are most likely to purchase a used vehicle with factory defects.

The investigation analyzed the reports of car history acquired by customers from 2023. January to 2024. September, which found records about the recovery of the car for the repair of the manufacturers. Companies’ car data allows you to determine whether the problem has been removed or not. The status of some cars with records of their necessary return for repairs is unknown.

According to specialists, the recovery of the car industry is inevitable and all manufacturers come from time to time. « As transport is modernizing and using more and more electronic equipment, recovery repairs are increasing.

Small disadvantages are usually eliminated during annual technical service.

It is true that some factory imperfections can also cause serious consequences. 2013 The world has circled the news that the failure of the airbag systems produced by Japan Takata has made millions of cars unsafe.

Although car manufacturers such as BMW, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Mazda, Nissan and Toyota have recovered models with Takata airbags, and various traffic accidents were still inevitable. Legal responsibility

Duty: The seller must disclose the information about the condition of the used car, regardless of whether the buyer is asking for it. / L. April / Photo by BNS

Buying a used car for a frequent Lithuanian is not always a pleasant experience. There are situations where the vehicle begins to fail in just a few weeks, although it seemed technically neat. What if the seller was silent on this and that?

According to the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania, the seller must guarantee that the car used meets the quality requirements and to provide accurate information about its technical condition.

Even if the seller claims to be unaware of the failure, it does not relieve him of responsibility.

« Information on the condition of a used car must be disclosed, regardless of whether the buyer is asking for it. Her concealing is treated as unfair behavior by the seller, » said Mantas Linys, a professional community lawyer.

If the purchase of a car reveals that there were hidden defects, there is a reason to require reduction in price, eliminate deficiencies at the expense of the seller, reimbursement, or even terminate the transaction and recover the money paid.

Importantly, neither the low cost of the car, the high mileage or age of the car does not forgive the seller from liability for defects if they have not been disclosed.

However, the seller can also defend. The law stipulates that he is not responsible for the defects that the buyer knew about, or if the faults arose after the car was handed over – due to improper use or third parties’ fault.

The lawyer pays attention to the fact that even before signing the purchase and sale agreement, it is advisable to include all the known flaws in it, and after the purchase, all documents related to the maintenance and repair of the car are stored.

If the car breaks down, it is important to immediately inform the seller in writing, contact the authorized service, record defects and obtain official conclusions.

« The earlier the buyer responds and has evidence of hidden defects, the easier it will be to defend his rights. Therefore, it is important to immediately contact the lawyer if necessary, » said lawyer M. Linys.
