For 24 suspects in the tragedy in Kocani, a given 30 -day detention
The Kocani Basic Court confirmed that a 30 -day detention was given to all 24 persons for whom the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office demanded that the measure were imposed on the investigation into the tragedy of the Pulse Discotheque in Kocani, where 59 people were killed.
Among the 24 people for whom the three mayors of Kocani are detained are outgoing Mayor Ljupco Papazov, as well as former Ratko Dimitrovski and Nikolco Iliyev.
The investigation so far in the fire at the Pulse disco in Kocani covers 27 natural and three legal entities.
The total number of suspects in the fire at the Pulse disco in Kocani has been 34 natural persons so far, after state prosecutor Ljupco Kocevski announced that an investigation was opened against 27 natural and three legal entities, after the first investigative proceedings against seven police officers from SIA Stip and PSON Kocani. In the first phase in the MoI and the prosecution, two criminal charges were filed against 34 natural and three legal entities, for the crime of « serious offenses against general security » under Article 292 in connection with « causing general danger » under Article 288 of the Criminal Code. One person is also reported for « receiving bribe » under Article 357 of the CC.
Kocevski said at a press conference that the end of the investigation would clarify all the circumstances and facts of the cause of the fire, which caused it, the way it caused and which pyrotechnic device.
Persons, as Kocevski informs, are suspected of a crime for which a sentence of at least three years is provided, which means that the maximum sentence is 20 years, and are suspected that as accomplishers, drafting, signing and approving positive consent, allowed the legal entity to acquire a license.
