BRATISLAVA. On Thursday just before midnight, the deadline for submitting applications to the SFZ -controlled competitions passed.
Since the 2025/2026 season, the third league system has been changing, instead of two groups there will be three: west, center and east.
The West Group will have 16 participants, Group Stred and East of 14.
According to the geographical affiliation, they will also include newly created B -league units and clubs with the Statute of the Academy, which for this possibility have shown interest.
What will be the composition of the second and third highest competition in the new year?
Monacobet League participants
All the clubs that are justified for it were entered by the Monacobet League again.
The descending from the Niké League is Banská Bystrica, the competition will be complemented by three newcomers, winner III. League West ŠKF Sered, winner III. East League Slávia TU Košice and winner of the qualifying meeting for the advance of OFK Baník Lehota pod Vtáčnikom.
In the list of clubs for the 2025/2026 season on Friday evening, Sered was not yet, but coach Richard Slezák for Sportnet He confirmed that the club filed an application and is currently a shortened license procedure.
It will be a historical participation in the second highest competition for Slavia and Lehota pod Vtáčnikom.
Sereď has already played the first league, but has a long -term problem with the stadium, which is in deplorable condition.
Mayor Serej Ondrej Kurbel said on Thursday on the social network that the Sport Support Fund supported their project for the reconstruction of the stadium by the largest possible amount of EUR one million. The total expenditure of the planned reconstruction is almost 2.9 million euros.
It is not yet known where Sereď will play his home games. One of the possibilities is Piešťany, but Šaľa is also considered.
Lehota pod Vtáčnikom received an exception to one year from SFZ, so he will play its home games at its own stadium. Currently, however, in the village with four thousand inhabitants, the reconstruction works are also beginning, after which the deadline will meet the criteria for the second league.
Work should finish at the end of August, so the deadline will play the opening outdoor matches either on the opponents’ pitches, or in Bánovce nad Babravou, Nováky or Prievidza. This will be decided in the coming days.
Participants III. league
Group West
After the reorganization, the West will be the only one in which clubs will perform from the competence of two regional football associations – West Slovak and Bratislava.
The quotas for the number of clubs from each region were predetermined, and this has led to an unprecedented anomaly to which Malacky paid.
The Bratislava Football Association has only four places in the West group, and this meant that the worst placed club from BFZ from last season had to fall out.
It was Malacky, who finished fifth, behind two advancing and after Inter and Rača.
They gained twice the number of points (52) as the penultimate Častkovce (26), which were rescued in the competition.
Although Malacky applied for the third league, the quota for the BFZ teams is already fulfilled.
Other BFZ clubs will be, in addition to Inter and Rača, the reserve of Petržalka and MŠK Senec as a winner IV. League BFZ.
