Flemish MP Wim Verheyden (Vlaams Belang) will be out of circulation for a long time due to a brain haemorrhage. This is reported by Flemish party leader Chris Janssens to Belga. The 58-year-old Verheyden, who is also a member of a community senator and also a party leader in Bornem, is currently staying in the hospital. His duties will be taken over temporarily.
The news about the news about the health status of Wim Verheyden is shocked within Vlaams Belang. « We know Wim as a very active and committed people’s representative, both locally and nationally. In the Flemish Parliament, he follows the mobility files with great knowledge and passion. He is a colleague who is always ready to help others, » says party leader Chris Janssens. « We wish Wim, together with the entire party, a good and prosperous recovery, and hope to welcome him again soon. »
Earlier this year, Vlaams Belang parliament member Guy D’Haeseleer with a form of hepatitis, a heavy liver inflammation, was admitted to the hospital. He was allowed to leave the hospital last weekend after a successful liver transplant, but has to rehabilitate before he can get back to work.
