The chairman of the court in Dendermonde sentenced the 45-year-old OT on Tuesday to an effective prison sentence of five years. The man had abducted his wife in 2024 because he suspected her of adultery. « There were traces of serious violence. She had fractions in the face, hair and was fur and blue, » the attorney outlined. The OT companion was given a conditional prison sentence of one year.
The facts took place on August 5 in a shed in the Eekstraat in Lokeren. The victim was lured to that location by a friend of her husband with an excuse. « We would talk about our relationship, » she claimed.
On arrival, however, the woman fell victim to severe violence. She was tied and kicked and beaten by her husband and his companion. Everything was recorded on camera. « The facts are degoutant. It took fifteen minutes, » said the attorney. Afterwards the woman was thrown into the cargo space of a van, on which she drove to her husband’s apartment in Antwerp. They also had sex with each other there.
She was found injured by the police there. « There were traces of very serious violence. She had fractures in the face, hair and saw fur and blue. She also whispered to the agents that she was raped, » said the attorney.
“Low IQ”
The man ended up in jail, where he is staying until today. He also underwent an investigation by an expert, and that does not paint a nice image of him. « This is a particularly dominant and narcissistic person, » said the attorney, who demanded a strict punishment of eight years. Three years in prison were asked for the companion.
T. counsel claimed that his stops have gone through, after his client learned that his wife prostituted himself. « It was a chaotic period, » he nuanced. According to the lawyer of the second defendant, his client was fired up. « He has an IQ of 54. He was abused, » he argued.

The companion received a slight punishment for his share in the facts on Tuesday. The judge sentenced him to a year in prison. OT got worse. He received an effective prison sentence of five years and has to remain available for another five years of the criminal court. Despite the horrible facts, his wife remains behind her husband. « He has a lot of regret. He is my first great love and I will always continue to support him, » she noted.
