Five myths about plug -in hybrids that are very far from the truth
Are you dreaming of a car that will offer you carelessness, comfort, safety and complete coexistence with your driving values that are more nature -friendly? Did you think about e-mobility and somehow realized that it is not quite in line with your daily road routine and would be impossible to choose because you do not have the opportunity to establish your own home charger?
Although at first glance you think there is no real green solution for you, you may be wrong. If you are one of those drivers who do not want to adapt to the special features of an electric car, then the best alternative for you is a plug -in hybrid. Why is it going? This is a drive -powered car that can only run on electricity, and the longer routes also include a gasoline engine. This means that it saves you time and caring for battery charging while also providing great savings.
But there are a whole bunch of rumors and myths around the plug -in hybrids. We checked how much they really hold.
Myth no. 1: Connection hybrids are expensive, extra insert is not worth it!
It is true that plug -in hybrids are more expensive to produce because they have gasoline (in rare cases diesel) and at the same time electric, which can operate independently or simultaneously with gasoline. However, this does not have to apply to customers. Volkswagen’s current range of Golf, Tiguan and Passat models have the same price as comparable performance models with a classic (petrol) engine.
Your keyword for smart choice is ehybrid. In Golf Ehybrid, for $ 32,713 without giving up and adjusting, it will lead you to the benefits of both worlds: electric with a range of up to 143 kilometers and hybrid with a total range of more than 800 kilometers.
Golf Ehybrid has 110 kilowatts of power and electric power with 85 kilowatts of power, the system power is 150 kilowatts (204 horsepower), so driven Golf Ehybrid accelerates up to hundreds in just 7.2 seconds! The same drive is also available in the Passat Ehybrid for $ 39,188 and Tiguan Ehybrid for $ 39,640.
The plug -in hybrid is worth it and does not require an additional cartridge!

Myth no. 2: Conceptive hybrids are pointless as they have two engines and two energy stores!
Not true! Double -drive and double energy storage have many advantages, just taking advantage of them. Regular charging of 19.7 kWh in golf, passat and Tiguan Ehybrid will be able to travel from 128 to 143 kilometers daily to electricity. At night, you will charge the battery in 12 hours through a regular 220V-wise and run into a new day with a fresh energy supply and full electric range.
If you have an alternating current at home or at work with an alternating current with a power of 11 kilowatts, you will charge the battery in only two and a half hours.
On longer routes, however, a double energy storage (40-liter fuel tank and a full battery 19.7 kWh) will come in handy in all three models, providing a total range of more than 800 kilometers without intermediate electricity and fuel charges.
One of the technological features of Volkswagen’s terminal hybrids is the possibility of charging via speed charging stations per one -way stream (CSS). Charging is up to 40 kilowatts and in just 26 minutes you will be able to charge the battery up to 80 percent to gain at least 100 kilometers of electric range.
Myth no. 3: Conceptive hybrids are sand in the eyes as they have nothing to do with environmental friendliness!
Not true! If you regularly charge the plug -in hybrid battery, you can drive completely without CO for the week and after the work2. In this case, the plug -in hybrid acts as a real electric car. At the same time, the plug -in hybrid also acts as a hybrid, ie in the mixed cycle of gasoline and electricity, which means that it consumes less than a classic petrol engine.

Myth no. 4: Drivers do not charge batteries, so they even consume more than gasoline cars!
In order to use the technical and saving potential of the plug -in hybrid, it is advisable to charge the battery regularly. We believe that this is not too demanding, as it is already sufficient for access to a regular 220V-tinch and the battery will be recharged every day at night. While driving, the battery will be charged by braking/recuperation of excess energy and will also reduce fuel consumption.
Myth no. 5: The plug -in hybrid is neither an electric car. It’s actually « quite a few »!
The plug -in hybrid is a car that can make your daily rides by driving only on electricity and saving a lot. On longer routes, however, the gasoline engine gives you greater reach, carelessness and independence from the infrastructure of the charging stations. This combination thus brings you more economical driving on longer routes.
The plug -in hybrid is a smart choice for anyone who wants to enjoy complete carelessness while taking advantage of electric driving. You will do short daily routes without emissions and longer distances without worry about reach. And an additional bonus: significant savings in fuel consumption. In terms of comfort, safety, economy and environmental care, this is a great upgrade of a classic vehicle.
