Five main favors in Eurovision finals 2025. – BBC News in Serbian
The choice for the Eurovision song has reached the Grand Final in Basel, where 26 countries are fighting for a prestigious trophy of the glass microphone in the evening.
There are no representatives of the former Yugoslavia between them, because they are all dropped in the semifinals.
The competition seems less predictable than previous years, when performers like Loren (Sweden, 2023) and Kaluš orkestra (Ukraine, 2022) were destined for victory before they sang and notes.
As things stand in bookmakers for now, Sweden is at the top of the table, with their wonderfully crazy sonnet for sauna « Bar Bada Basta ».
However, voters usually prefer songs about triumph over adversities and great pop hymns. It would be ideal to want a great pop anthem about triumph over adversity, and there are enough on the list on Saturday.
We talked with five competitors with the best quotas to find out what their performances in Eurovision makes special.

Their song « Bara Bada Bast » was guided by a sauna culture guided with a sauna culture (Finland has more than three million saunas, one for each two people).
« It was natural to sing about it, » Kevin Holmstrem says. « We really love the sauna. She’s universal. »
The first band in Swedish language since 2012. year, the song of the virtues of this practice in combating stress. I wonder if that is why Finland is constantly ranked as the happiest nation in the world?
« It’s like a cenic and egg situation, » Jakob Norgard laughs. « I don’t know what was first, happiness or sauna, but the sauna definitely slows down the pulse. »
This year, the Trio brought a false sauna to the Eurovision Sauna, with Brez’s branches, hot coal and dancers to coiled towels. The text of the song asks: « How long can you endure? ».
« Oh, we can push it all evening, » Jakob confirms. « A party in a sauna that lasts for hours. »
« I love a lot of pauses, » says Aksel Ahman. « Two to three hours, we enter and go out, we drink something, maybe even eating a sausage outside, and then we get back in – just for the sessions to be calm and long. »
And how does Finland feel due to the fact that Trio represents her neighbor and the Eurovision Rival?
« Finci love the deals, so this is great, » Jacob laughs.

« Sold out the play in the opera has 1,600 people, so it is nothing compared to the Eurovision audience, » he says (last year’s TV transmission saw 163 million people).
Pič’s song, « Wasted Love »is a turbulent ballad that spectacularly uses his countertrate.
The scene performs in a dilapidated sailing boat, holding on to the mast while the ocean threatens to swallow him. It is one of the most interesting performances of evenings and requires a lot of preparations.
« It’s an opera singer in me, I practice every day, » he says. « I have to do vocal exercises to keep the voice active and before I go out on the scene, I always do ten push and one-minute plank. »
The placement in the Eurovision Final was a dream since he watched St. Vurst wins for Austria in 2014. years. Could it repeat that success in Switzerland?

Eurovision 2025 at the BBC
France: Luan – Maman
- Chance to win: 8%
- Language: French
- Genre: Torc (love) Song

« I’m surrounded by a sandstorm, a sand tornado, and I’ll wear a dress to order Raban (I’m surrounded by a Sand Storm, a Sand Tornado, and I’ll Be Wearing A Custom Rabanne Dress). «
French singer Luan describes a simple but stunning scenography for his ballad « Maman ».
The sand is real (how he avoids inhaling it, I will never know), but it serves the purpose: a song, inspired by the death of her mother of cancer, talks about the flow of time.
« It’s a song that says, even through sadness and deep pain, you can finally feel good, » he says.
« Maman » is a technical continuation of the 2015 eponymous song from 2015, written in the depths of Luan’s despair.
The 2025 version includes several references to the first song. For example, the original started in the verse: « Lovers moves out of bed to bed (Lovers Move From Bed To Bed) « , And in the new version sings: » No more lovers, no more beds (No More Lovers, No More Beds) « .
The birth of a child helped Luan to take off the veil of grief. In the song, she talks about how the arm daughter returned memories of moments with her mother – just that the pain disappeared this time. In the final clocks of the song « Maman », we hear her daughter’s voice briefly.
« She won’t be here in the Basel, » Luan says. « He will look on television, because he is only five years old. »
« But it’s super proud. He’s telling me, » Mom, you have to bring the trophy home. ‘
« She’s irresistible. »
The Netherlands: Claude – C’est La Vie
- Chance to win: 6%

The Netherlands originally asked last year’s participant, Josta Klajna – whose participation in the finals after the alleged quarrel with the cameraker – to give him the opportunity to return 2025. years.
Although he has already written a song for the competition, he refused, saying that disqualification was still « Žulja ».
Instead, the honor went to the 21st year of Kiambe, who moved to the Netherlands from the Democratic Republic of Congo when he was nine years old.
« She wasn’t always safe in Congo, » he says. « I couldn’t afford to go to school … and I love school. »
His mother eventually managed to smuggle a family from the ground, and his Eurovision song was committed to her.
Called « C’est La Vie« (And that’s life), it’s a joyful mixture of Afropop and French Chanson in which Mother’s councils and his brothers and sisters at the Asylum Center in Alkmar.
« She told me, ‘C’est La Vie. Life is beautiful, even if it’s hard sometimes. ‘ »
« That’s why, when I heard about Eurovision, I thought, » Wait, if I go there, I want to convey the message to the world. ‘ »
Claude comes to a competition with a small advantage, because it is known throughout Europe at its high hit « Ladada » from 2022. years.
He had to overcome the new skill for Eurovision: choreography.
« I’ve done only one dance movement before, but when I wrote a song, I thought, » It’s time to get out of the comfort zone and dancing. ‘ »
Learning choreography lasted for three days, he says. « We started at 11 and ended at nine. I wanted to know her so well that I could work in my dreams. »
Finland: Erika Vikman – Ich komme
- Chance to win: 4%
- Language: Finnish and German
- Genre: Eurodens
- Number of listening to spotyphis: 11.8 million
Ask Erik Vikman to describe his song, and she will openly tell you, « I sing about orgasm. »
Full of strong techno rhythms and what looks like a Welsh men’s choir, it is one of those tracks that will guarantee become part of the Eurovision Folklore, regardless of where it is found in the final.
Vikman was once declared the Queen of the Finnish Tango scene, but she gave up on the pop, « because I can’t be very wild with that kind of music. »
Titing artists like Madonna, Sher and Lady Gage as inspiration, she is one of the few artists that appears on the scene without dancers.
« Why? Because I’m selfish! » She laughs. « I want attention. »
« No, it’s because when I go out on the scene, I feel like a rock star, and when I feel like a rock star, I really don’t need dancers, because it’s my power and myself. »
She certainly owns a scene – ending his song on the top of a giant gold microphone that throws fire while raising into heaven.
However, attentive viewers could notice that her costume is a little less revealing from the one who carried the election for the Finnish candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest – Uuden musiikin kilpailu.
« They said it would not pass if we did not alleviate something, » she says, « and one of the suggestions was my clothes. »
« So I said, ‘All right, if it’s the price you need to pay, we cover my buttocks’. »
Doesn’t mean she’s happy about it.
« The song is about possessing my sexuality, and then someone comes and controls me, saying, » You will destroy every child that looks at this show. « It’s a double standard. »
Censorship or not, her chances of victory were dramatically reduced after a radiant appearance in the semifinals.
« I have a feeling about that, » she smiled. « I could be a surprise. »
