Five elements of the Name Boys in Preventive Prison
The five elements of Benfica’s cheerleader at Name Boys detained on Tuesday for alleged involvement in the disorders in December last year in a Cacém restaurant, Sintra municipality, were on Thursday in pre-trial detention.
The five defendants, detained in the fulfillment of search warrants, related to suspicions of injury and offenses to physical integrity, practiced by elements of the cheerleader in Name Boys, affects Benfic were present the first judicial interrogation in the Court of Criminal Instruction of Sintra, which applied their most severe coercion measure.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, PSP’s Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis) reported the fulfillment of five search warrants -two in Amadora, two in Sintra and one in Carcavelos -as part of the investigation to disturbances in a cacém, on December 21, 2024, by elements of Benfica’s cheerleader at Name Boys.
In addition to the five detainees in ‘Operation Smoke’, the PSP agents collected “several evidence” and seized 160 doses of hashish, five mobile phones, several pyrotechnic mills and allusive material to Sport Lisboa and Benfica in Name Boys.
In the operation triggered on Tuesday, crimes of offenses to serious and qualified physical integrity, qualified theft, damage, fire, resistance and coercion and aggravated injuries are concerned.
Elements of the Name Boys caused “disagreement and large damage” in a restaurant in Cacém where, on December 21 last year, they organized a Christmas dinner, and were also responsible for “a serious public disorder that resulted in serious injuries to one of the police highlighted for the occurrence,” according to PSP.
