FIS threatens the Poles, Slovenes did not support them, Planica on Safe

At the end of last week, the committee of the FIS International Ski Association for the planning of World Cup calendars met in Prague. And the director of the one for the ski jumping, the Italian Sandro Pertilehe really scared the Poles and even threatened them. The following season of the World Ski Jumping Cup would start on Friday, 21 in November in Norway Lillehammer with mixed teams, continued in a few days in Sweden Falun. The World Cup of Eagles and Eagles would return there for the first time in eleven years. In February, the Olympics in Italy, 21 and 22. In the summer in Vikersundaccording to tradition, the final matches of the World Cup at the Gorišek Brothers Airport are in Planica, from 27 to 29.
Well, the problem is that in the calendar for 6. And 7 December 2025, the question is inserted. At that time, the matches should be in Poland Wisła, but the big question is if this will be true. There is a serious apples of a dispute between the FIS and the Polish Ski Association (PZN), which could cause Poland to disappear from the World Cup map. The organizers at Wisła would only organize a men’s race, but not women’s matches, and FIS now wants to keep the jumpers of most of the World Cup at the same time and in the same places as for men.

“Polish organizers have time to reflect by the end of April. If they only insist on men’s games, we will take them away and move them elsewhere, « Pertile announced. The final World Cup program is expected to be approved on May 8th at a meeting in Portugal Vilamouri. For example, the German Klingenthal has already expressed his willingness to replace the competition in Wisła. « We already have the application of the German Ski Association, we are ready to transfer the matches to Klingenthal, » the Italian added.
At the meeting in Prague, Vice President of PZN was present Wojciech Gumnywho is supposed to know about the threat of FIS. In Poland, they do not want to organize women’s competitions, and the Polish ski association is expected to make the decision by the end of April. It is about the fact that the World Cup games for men’s jumpers allows you to organize lower levels, FIS Cups and a continental cup in Poland. If the wisła competition were to be removed from the calendar or forced to host the World Cup for women, the PZN would not be able to allocate funds for the FIS Cup and the Continental Cup. In the Olympic season, competitions of such a rank are on the Szczyrk and the Finals of the series in Zakopana.
They will not be left to lead by the nose
« We would like to organize the jumping match, but we will not let ourselves be led by the nose, » shrubs Andrzej wmsowiczPresident of the Wisła Ski Jumping Board Organizing Committee. PZN will send a special delegation to the FIS leadership to attempt to solve the entire position to FIS, led by the President of the Association Adam Małysza legend of ski jumping. The latter says, “Everything will be forced if you want a men’s competition, so will you have to organize a woman? If so, I’m against. This is not a way! We need to find ways to make women’s jumps more popular, but in a different way, not that. «

“We expect that due to the integration of a male and female calendar, we will increase media interest in women’s ski jumping in the coming years. In this way, we should also reduce some costs, « says Sandro Pertile. Well, the organization of the World Cup for jumpers could also be an expensive thing, so the words of Sandra Pertile about reducing certain costs in this case do not reflect reality. These are hundreds of thousands of evils that the organizing committee in Wisła would have to pay out of his own pocket. Wshsowicz says: “It’s not that we do not want to organize joint competitions for women and men, because the Malinka ski jump is cramped and small. In addition, we calculated precisely because women’s financial awards were rising to cost us over 300,000 evils (70,000 euros, op. P.). The financial layout is such that we carry the costs of the whole organization ourselves. If we have a profit, we dedicate it to the organization of other events, those under the auspices of the FIS. «

Slovenia against the merger of calendars
“Wisła is a relatively small area. The facilities themselves for men’s competitions are barely large enough to do them, let alone combine with women’s competitions. We have three times less space occupied with TVs, smaller zones for FIS invitations, fewer teams and their more milder demands. We can use temporary wardrobes, but in winter such a solution is out of the question, « he explains Jan WinkielMarketing Director at PZN.
He adds: “In the summer, women’s and men’s competitions for the grand prize, together with the organizers, require about 220 rooms. In winter, only men occupy 200 rooms. There are other hotels, but those with the standard we want to offer to competitors are fully occupied, very expensive for these dates or too far. Competitions are always much harder to organize in December due to snow conditions. The additional match of women shortens the time needed to work on the Hill and significantly reduce the possibility of postponing or accelerating the competition. We also know that before noon, that is, at a time when women’s jumps would be, a strong wind blows in Wisła in December. When we first heard of the FIS proposal about women’s competitions and their merger with men, we proposed organizing an independent women’s competition in Szczyrk. Slovenia and Austria, the leading country in both men’s and women’s ski jumps, have already publicly expressed opposition to the merger of calendars (in the case of Slovenia, of course, the fate of the competition in Ljubno, op. P.). Pertile himself says in conversations that this is not the best solution, but that is an idea and must be sticking to it. We do not understand this, especially given the possibility of hosting competitions in locations where the World Cup for jumpers simply wouldn’t make sense to do. «

The anger of the President of the World Cup Board of Ski Jumping in Wisła Andrzeja Wmailwicz Is it really huge: “Why should we put us against the wall? I don’t like that too much. However, we must not give up. Besides, I am disappointed. The effect would be greater if Poland was not alone in this case if she had support other relationships. This could have a positive effect on conversations. Namely, I am even more disappointed that at the meeting in Prague, other skiing associations were with us, such as Austrian and Slovenian, but now as part of whether or not they will get the opportunity to organize World Cup matches. If there were more of us, Mr. Pertile would have resigned. «
Poland, according to the theoretical calendar, will have two World Cup matches in ski jumping, 10th and 11th in January 2026 in Zakopane.
