Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha demanded that measures be taken to prevent, rapid and efficient intervention in fires, but also to identify and punish any author of deliberate arson. During the meeting with 61 fire officers in the country, Minister Hoxha said that « the data of recent years prove to us that in many cases, fires are directly caused by the careless or deliberately harmful activity of the people themselves ».

These messages were given during a meeting held near the premises of the Kinostudio fire station, Tirana, attended by the Prefect of Tirana, leaders of the National Civil Protection Agency and other emergency officials, etc.

Speaking about the problems of deliberate arson, the Minister of the Interior sought to investigate any case and to prosecute anyone who, intentionally or negligently, causes fire in a deliberate manner.

“No case should and will be left without responsibility. Fire is not just a natural phenomenon, it is often a criminal act« , Hoxha appealed.

Regarding measures to cope with problems during the summer season, the minister emphasized cooperation between different structures and prevention. « In the face of the challenges of the fires, we need more than a reaction. We need prevention. For this, we need close cooperation with all local emergency structures, with administrative units, with its heads, civil society and the citizens themselves, » Hoxha said. He further underlined that “You need to strengthen coordination at the local level, carry out preliminary inspections in high -risk areas, increase readiness and implement local emergency plans! ”

At the same time, Minister Hoxha announced that he is working towards equipping the firefighting structures with the most appropriate tools and facilities. « The Ministry of Interior, » said Hoxha – will provide all the institutional support to provide you with the necessary tools, information and support.
