A total of 22 firefighters and 650 firefighters from 14 European countries will be available by the Commission during the summer months in the south countries affected by fires during the summer months.

In addition, 19 ground firefighting groups, about 30 firefighters each, and a group of experts, are ready to mobilize by the EU in close cooperation with the Member States and participating states through the mechanism.

A special fire support team will be set up at the EU Emergency Coordination Center, which will operate 24/7, to monitor the risk and analysis of scientific data.

Our goal is to « guard our forests, » said Commissioner Husktra, who stressed that climate change would intensify.

The Minister of the Environment referred to the Antinero program, stressing that « after the significant losses of our country in recent years, we are implementing a coherent and ambitious fire prevention program to enhance durability and protect our ecosystems.

He pointed out that the prevention of fires is a national and constant challenge, and that is why we must be vigilant and concluded by saying that the government, local communities, civil society and every citizen must work together to face the challenges we have.
