Firefighters are our heroes, we built a new station after 40 years

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has expressed gratitude and respect for the firefighters, whom he described as « heroes of a city ». In a post on social networks, Veliaj said that the contribution of firefighters is irreplaceable, especially during extraordinary situations such as earthquake or pandemia. He brought to the attention the construction of a new fire station in the Kinostudio area, an investment that, according to him, had not been made for 40 years in the capital.

« Firefighters are the heroes of a city. For Tirana and each of us, amidst extraordinary events like that of earthquake or pandemia, they have been and are more than that: people of sacrifice!

I am proud that from the first day in office, we knew how to do the right thing for firefighters, whether investing in more modern tools for them, new uniforms and more staff, whether handling them with salary supplements or rewards for their super difficult work.

What gives me the most pleasure is the fact that we managed to build a new fire station, from foundations, to Kinostudio, an investment that has not happened in Tirana for 40 years, which has made the city where we live even more secure today.

With access to the New Ring and equipped with all the tools and conditions needed for a modern station, this building is the proof of work done in a decade to move the city forward. Acknowledgment to all firefighters who have worked and work in the service of the Tirana community ”.
