Firefighter to a disco in Tura. Teenagers came out of custody
It was June 2024. 24-year-old Damian, a volunteer fireman from confusion in the Kalisz poviat, played at a disco in nearby Tura. It was there that he got into a quarrel with a group of teenagers. When he and his friend stood in front of the building, intending to return home, they were brutally attacked. Damian was clustered, he was hospitalized in a critical condition. He died shortly after.

The police detained seven people aged 14 to 18 in this matter. As many as four of them were minors. There was no doubt who was responsible for the beating of the fireman, because the whole incident was recorded by surveillance cameras. Currently, a trial of teenagers is taking place in Kalisz. Four of them, the youngest, have already been directed to educational centers by a family court decision. Three of the oldest, who were at the time of beating at the age of 17, were waiting for a verdict in the custody. They answer as adults, none of them pleaded guilty.
Teenagers are punishable by up to 15 years in prison. They have been in custody for a year, but now that the trial is coming to an end, the court decided to change it. According to Radio Poznań, the suspects were released.
Suspects released from detention
– The court decided that at the moment there is no need to use the strictest preventive measure against three teenagers, because a significant part of the evidence was already carried out. That is why the court released the accused from detention and used other means – police supervision and a ban on leaving the country – said Radio Poznań defender of one of the accused, patron Michał Królikowski.
