Fire on Krasta Hill of Elbasan, Intensive Intervention to protect the city’s green park
This Wednesday morning, the situation created by a powerful fireplace in the pine trees of the Krasta hill on the outskirts of the city of Elbasan is towards full normalization.
The fire appeared yesterday afternoon, after 2pm including an area of about 1 hectare of the city’s green park.
Despite the large size the flames received, thanks to the coordinated intervention of the Elbasan and Librazhd firefighting forces, as well as the Armed Forces, the fire was controlled during the late hours of the night.
The field engaged 12 officers of the Armed Forces and a firefighting firefighting tool of regional protection Mengël, who played a key role in fire isolation and preventing its further spread.
Currently, the situation is calm with some small hearths that are being extinguished and monitored by teams on the ground.
Burning of pine trunks still continues in some parts of the Krasta Hill area, while fire service workers are committed to final fire isolation and eliminating any risk for reactivation due to weather conditions, especially the wind.
Civil protection structures in cooperation with local authorities and the National Civil Protection Agency remain in full readiness to protect the community and the natural resources of the area from any possible threat.
